Havelock North Pool Upgrade
The Hastings District Council put the ‘Havelock North Pool Upgrade' Project out for open tender and Pro-Structure were successful in their bid for this high profile project. The upgrade consisted of a full refurbishment to the pools, amenities, plant/pump rooms, and the surrounding paved areas.
After confirmation and completion of contractual matters, this project commenced.
LHT Design led the design team, and Project Managed the job on behalf of the Hastings District Council. LHT was Pro-Structures link to the Council for all matters relating to the build. At the time of excavation and site prep, ‘Mother Nature' was against Pro-Structure with a period of heavy rain and bad weather. These posed some frustrating challenges. Though additional tasks and variations were called for and additional work requested, such as repainting of the pools, and modifications to the chlorinisation plant, Pro-Structure still managed to achieve the original completion time frame despite these obstacles. The Havelock North Pool upgrade was completed in November 2012.
Havelock North community now have available to them a clean contemporary and user-friendly swimming facility to enjoy. Integrated into the one complex are refurbished pools to suit all ages an fitness levels – ranging from a toddler pool to a lap pool. The complex also offers shower, toilet and changing facilities, built to the highest possible health and safety standards. In the design, there is a special emphasis on mothers and children - the result being, a dedicated facility for toddlers and parents which is separate from the other amenities and facilities. This has introduced a safe and caring approach for visiting parents and children at the complex. |
